An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

39 Weeks - Three More Days!

Here are a few shots of me, Mom and my furry sisters. We are posing in front our Christmas decorations for this year. Mom has always had a Christmas tree (her favorite and main decor of the holiday) but decided against it this year knowing that disassembly while adjusting to being a new mom may be a bit challenging. She has no idea what an angel I'm going to be. We'll ease into this new life together without any hiccups (who doesn't need a little positive attitude??). Mom opted for a huge poinsettia to provide a punch of red and green, evergreen wreaths hung on the screen so it would smell like Christmas, and a tiny glass pacifier hung by a blue ribbon from one of the wreaths to mark the year of my first Christmas.

These pictures were taken on Monday evening. We go for pre-op bloodwork on Wednesday. Our big day is Thursday. I think I've decided to hang out in my little Mom-made world until then instead of making a surprise arrival before my scheduled debut. Although I am looking forward to having a little more room to stretch out.

From my belly button view, my new environment that awaits me is looking quite comfy - a big crib with lots of black and white images to get my little brain cranking from day one, a Boston rocker we borrowed from Granny Linda to rock me to sleep, a co-sleeper to hang out with Mom while she's still trying to get up and around after her surgery, an infant carrier where I'll hang out close to Mom wrapped up like a little burrito on walks with Senna and Sprout, and my super cool orange carseat and orange stroller. Mom finished assembling the car seat adapter for the stroller the other night. I'm ready to roll!
