An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

Two-Thirds Old

Yep! It's that time again.

Come back here apple! We've got to celebrate.

Now I've got ya!

I'm 2/3 of a year old today (or 8 months old if you want to say it the typical way). Mom and I have been working on my fractions. This morning I ate 3/8 of a mini bagel. Tonight I ate 1/2 of my spinach and potatoes and all of my YoBaby yogurt. That stuff rocks!

I'm running at about 1/2 tilt this days as I am working very hard at cutting some teeth. None have surfaced yet but I am drooling, drooling, drooling and popping homeopathic teething tablets like they're candy (not that I know what candy tastes like).

As you would expect, I've been having fun the past few weeks. Mom and Dad hung a swing up underneath our deck and I LOVE it. I swing in it almost every night. Mom plops me down, straps me in, I let out a big sigh, and crack a huge smile as I make the first soar through the night air. Swings are good relaxation therapy (especially for these teething days!).

While Dad was crewing for a race team in Mid-Ohio, Mom and I raced up to Richmond to catch up with her family at their annual fall get together. We took a pontoon ride across Woodlake to go have dinner. Here's the 'ride over crew' sans Uncle Doug and Granny Linda. From left to right: Mom, Thacker, Aunt Lelley, Aunt Donna and Grandaddy. Grandaddy sure was glad to have another dude around when I came along. We're still outnumbered!

I liked the flag on the boat and watching the water.
Cousin Marc and Meredith joined us at the restaurant and rode back with us. I enjoyed the ride and sang and sang and sang once we got settled at our table for dinner.
Because I was singing with such joyful exuberance, Mom was glad we were seated outside and Aunt Shelley was glad when Mom offered me my pacifier. Here's Mom and I at the restaurant.

Mom finally got around to framing our Formula One event posters from her and Dad's treks to Indianapolis over the years. I helped her try to figure out what to do with the packaging.

Most recently I got a new backpack. I LOVE it! Mom and I went for a hike this past weekend at Woodpecker Ridge Nature Center. I reached out to touch the trees as we walked through the forest and laughed as I watched a baby calf wobble to it feet and walk over the knoll to join its mama.

Mom is saying it's time for me to go swing for a little while and then head off to bed. Night, night.
