An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

Dentist. Check!

Back in November, I made my first visit to the dentist and was not very cooperative. Mom, being the super mom that she is, put some planning, discussing and bribing into the next attempt. First she bought a Little Critters book by Mercer Mayer called Just Going to the Dentist.
We read that book a few times over the last couple of weeks. As Mom would brush my teeth, she would talk about Dr. Skinner shining the bright light, using the little mirror, and then tickling my teeth with the tooth counter.

Last night, she proposed the bribe. If I opened my mouth and let Patty, the hygienist, and Dr. Skinner look in my mouth and count my teeth, then we could go get ice cream. But she was very clear there would NO ice cream if I did not cooperate.

This morning we loaded up in the car (ironically I wanted to bring my drill) and headed off to the dentist. To my surprise, Froggy and a spider were in the car too! just like in the book (you can see them on the cover of the book too)! I sat up in the chair, talked with Patty and Dr. Skinner, and did a stellar job.

Froggy, spider and my drill were in the chair with me too. Mom said Froggy and spider didn't need to have their teeth checked since they don't have any. Next time I'll let the tiger clean my teeth, use the little water sprayer in my mouth, and meet Mr. Thirsty. After getting a brand new toothbrush, some toothpaste, and picking out a dinosaur from the treasure chest, we were headed for ICE CREAM at the Little Dipper downtown!!

I picked out mint chocolate chip ice cream and shared with my friends.
