An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

Pre-Halloween Houligans

On October 23, my daycare had a big Halloween party in the darkness of night when spookiness had settled over the parking lot and building. My friends and I raided car trunks for candy. Here's some outtakes from our shenanigans.
Me and Julian (I quote Julian frequently. I believe everything he tells me. I'm learning that sometimes he may stretch the truth. Mom and his dad agree that Julian is a superb storyteller.)
Me and Trent (Just in case you're wondering, those aren't his real teeth. I checked.)
Me and Caleb (Can you guess which one is me? Yep, that's right. The one with my bottom up in the air, shaking it.)

Story from the night:
We went from classroom to classroom doing different activities - tossing balls towards a tower of blocks for candy...that sort of thing. The big attraction was the haunted house in Mr. D's two rooms. I had never been to a haunted house. As we stood in line, hearing the screams from within, seeing the flashing lights and darkness beyond the door, my anxiety was building. I held tight to Mom's hand and went bravely inside. It was dark; people were screaming from the corners of the room and then whizzing by me in their dark cloaks; and Mr. D was across the room at a table coaxing me to come touch some eyeballs and brains. I looked at Mom and my eyes said, "WHAT?!?!?" With some encouragement from my Mom, I took five brave steps towards the table. Just as I stretched my hand out to touch the icky eyeballs and brains that Mom reassured me was really grapes and spaghetti, someone from under the table GRABBED MY LEG!! That was IT!! I BOLTED for the door, escaped that haunted house in a flash, and trembled for five minutes afterwards. The next morning I told Mr. D and the daycare director, "The haunted house FREAKED ME OUT!!" I was most dismayed to see Mr. D's room still in shambles from the haunted house that morning. I stood there and stared in mixed horror at the room that had me fleeing for my life mere hours earlier. Thankfully during the day, his room returned to normalcy.

Lastly, this a picture of me and my pre-school teacher, Miss Robin. She was fabulous! I only had a couple of short months with her before a local elementary school snapped her up. We miss her and hope she is enjoying her new job.
