An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

Weekend Road Trip

Last Thursday, Mom and I set out for Richmond in our loaded up little orange VW GTI. Before getting strapped into my orange carseat, I made sure we had packed my orange stroller for walks with Aunt Donna around Woodlake. (Can you guess what Mom's favorite color is?) Mom made sure we had everything else. She says for a little guy, I sure do require a lot of stuff. I'm worth it!
On Friday, I hung out with Aunt Donna and Uncle Doug while Mom went to a meeting. We had a grand time. Aunt Donna took me for walks and Uncle Doug sang and danced. Aunt Donna LOVES me and Uncle Doug is funny.
On Saturday, Mom and I went out on the town - TWICE!
First we went to lunch in the hip area of Carytown with two of our friends, Carolyn and Jennifer. This was the first time they had met me in person and, what can I say, the ladies loved me!
That evening, we went to visit Steve, Krista, Hannah, Alex, and Caitlin Gutzwiller at their house. Before we got there, Steve and Krista explained to Hannah, Alex and Caitlin that they would not be there if it were not for Mom. Steve is one of Mom's best friends from high school and Krista is Mom's best friend from college. They met through Mom at Smith Mountain Lake one summer. Mom was in their wedding many years ago. After we played at their house for a bit, we went out to eat at a Japanese steakhouse. This was my first time at a Japanese steakhouse and I was a bit overwhelmed. There were flaming volcanoes of onions and they threw food at my new friend Hannah. Everyone cheered but this made me cry. Once I realized she was ok and was supposed to catch the rice in her mouth, I quickly got over it and sat back to enjoy the rest of the show.
Here we all are stuffed and happy. I'm still trying to figure out that flamin' onion volcano thing.
My cousin Marc and his girlfriend Meredith spent some time chillin' with me on the deck that evening.

It was a good weekend! I'm looking forward to going back to Richmond again in August.
