A few weeks ago, Grandma and Papa brought this plant to my house.
It was born the day after I was born - a tiny little offset from a plant Grandma has. It has been growing and growing and growing just like me. I think it is a clivia miniata. I'll have to ask Grandma again. But it is supposed to have a beautiful peachy, orange bloom someday when it gets bigger. In the meantime, I'll try not to taste too many of the rocks from its pot (Yeah, that's a little dirt on my lips).

Today while I was at Mrs. Leah's house, a tree was planted in my front yard just for me! Mom and Dad planted three trees in the backyard the year they were married and now I have my very own tree planted the first year I was born! Here are some before and after pics.

The tree is a baby eastern redbud although it is already much taller than me. Surrounding the tree are some more new friends - aralias and heuchera.
Mom tells me that it is good to talk to the plants and trees so I'm starting my tree off with a good chat.
The tree shared some of its dirt with me too. I think it will like its new home.
Come by and see my new friend some time. Hopefully it will have a few pretty blooms this spring.
