An Intro from Mom

On May 12, 2007 closed in the privacy of my bathroom I found out I was pregnant. The weight of knowledge that my life (and most likely my body) would never be the same was overwhelming. I was excited and scared all rolled into one (and still am!)

Thacker will do his best to share with you his adventures. Enjoy!

Race Day

Dad has waited many years and worked very hard to be able to do this and today was the day!! His very first official road course race!! Fortunately for Mom and I, Dad's first race was at Virginia International Raceway which is about a two hour drive from home. Mom woke me up at 6:20 this morning (remember that we sprung forward an hour today so it was EARLY) and we were on the road by 6:35 a.m. headed south with a quick detour through the Starbucks drive-thru. I had breakfast at the track and then it was time to get down to business. Here is Dad's car on track. Papa and our good friend Todd were there to cheer on Dad too. Papa is standing at the fence with his hat on backwards watching Dad zoom by us. The race was 10 laps around the 3+ mile full-course at VIR. We watched most of the race with Dad following his racing buddy Matt. Then in the last lap Dad passed him!! I'm doing my victory dance!! (Dad is in the background.) Dad finished second place in his ITB class and had the fastest lap of the day in his class!!Here's a pic of Dad on the podium (on the left). His friend Matt that his passed is on the right. I kept waiting for the national anthem and champagne like the Formula One races but none came. Guess we'll have to bring our own boom box and bottle of champagne next time. Mom and I are both very proud of Dad. Isn't he the coolest in his racing suit and official tags? It was a great day and a smooth ride home.
